Report: Ole Miss LB Denzel Nkemdiche in ICU since Monday

Ole Miss senior linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche is currently in the intensive care unit of Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi where he has been staying since Monday, according to RebelGrove.com.

It is unclear why Nkemdiche was in the hospital, but according to the report, he did not check in with teammates on Monday following the team’s open date. He was found Monday.

"We are going to walk through it with him," said coach Hugh Freeze, who noted that Nkemdiche was dealing with a personal matter. “When issues come up that you need to get through that involve one of our players and anything with their family, we just want to support them and help them through it."

Nkemdiche leads Ole Miss with 53 tackles coming into Saturday's game against No. 17 LSU.
